Innis Maggiore's Vice President Creative Receives Top Advertising Honor

Canton Advertising Club Names Jeff Monter Advertising Person of the Year

CANTON, Ohio (June 4, 2008) - Jeff Monter, vice president creative at Innis Maggiore, is the Canton Advertising Club's 2008 Advertising Person of the Year. Monter was recently honored by the club with an awards ceremony at its annual meeting at Rolando's Restaurant in Canton. He also received the American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award for his exceptional contributions to the industry. Innis Maggiore is a Canton-based advertising and public relations firm and the nation's leading agency in the practice of positioning.

In his ten years at Innis Maggiore, Monter has directed hundreds of creative campaigns, and trained and mentored dozens of graphic designers. Work produced under his guidance has earned the agency many industry accolades, including close to 200 Canton ADDY Awards in his tenure.

The awards were presented to Monter by Sarah Hayden, the 2007 Advertising Person of the Year. Dick Maggiore, Christy Teeter of GuideStone Financial Resources and Robb Hyde from the Canton Museum of Art also honored Monter with speeches at the event.

The Canton Advertising Club's Advertising Person of the Year Award honors an individual in the local advertising community who contributes to the betterment of the advertising industry, is an active participant in community service and advertising, marketing or communications.

As a member of the Canton Advertising Club, Monter has contributed his design expertise to promotional materials for club functions such as awards ceremonies, fundraisers and social events. Monter is active in the community as a member and supporter of Arts in Stark, the Canton Symphony and Canton Civic Opera. Active in his church, Monter has served as a trustee, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, choir member and missionary host and sponsor. He resides in Uniontown with his wife, Lori, and four children.

Monter received art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design and began his career in 1981 at Wern Rausch Locke Advertising Inc. in North Canton. He was art director there from 1983 to 1993. In 1993, he joined Communication Resources, a Canton-based publishing company, as its art director. In 1995, he opened Monter Creative Design and served as president and owner until merging with Innis Maggiore in 1998.
