Innis Maggiore Endowed Scholarship Fund Awards Four New Scholarship Recipients
CANTON, Ohio (July 26, 2021) — Innis Maggiore, the nation’s leading positioning ad agency, today announced that four students from Kent State University at Stark have been awarded the Innis Maggiore Endowed Scholarship for Communications for 2021.
Andrea Dietrick (not pictured), Jacob Hershberger, Elizabeth Husk and Taq’wa Johnson (not pictured) each received $1,750 to put towards furthering their education in marketing and communications.
Andrea, a junior majoring in communications, is from Canton. She is also a full-time office manager for a local digital marketing agency, where she hopes to leverage the knowledge and skills learned in her degree to improve the role she plays in human resources and employee training.
Jacob, a junior majoring in marketing, is a two-time recipient of the Innis Maggiore Endowed Scholarship for Communications. From Uniontown, one of Jacob’s goals is to have his own business and use the marketing skills developed in school to help drive his success.
Elizabeth, a junior majoring in communications, is from Canton. She attributes her decision to study communications with giving her a vision to bring others together through positivity and hope.
Also from Canton, Taq’wa is a sophomore majoring in communications. Taq’wa has a passion for Japanese language and culture and hopes to use his degree to foster improved relations and understanding between Japanese and American cultures.
“As a leader in our community and our industry, it is vital that we help local students get the education they need to hit the ground running after college,” said Dick Maggiore, Innis Maggiore president and CEO. “The objective of the Innis Maggiore Endowed Scholarship for Communications is to position local students for success by helping them defray some of their costs for education and encourage them to live and work in Stark County.”
Innis Maggiore originally endowed the scholarship in 2007 and has awarded more than 20 scholarships. To be eligible for the annual scholarship students must attend Kent State University at Stark full-time; reside in Stark County; major in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or advertising; and demonstrate financial need.
